Open letter to FM's powers that be

I'm a HUGE fan of radio, not just ENGLISH FM, but FM in general. Yes, even in these days of Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music we as a family have paid accounts to ALL 3. BUT, FM STILL remains a favourite. Maybe because I'm 47 years old or catholic or ..... (insert stereotype)

But the good old days are gone and FM - especially ENGLISH / "International" FM has lost the plot. You tried to fake your own death, and then resurrect, but nobody gave a damn!

OK. Let me not get mean.

My purpose is to address THREE very basic ingredients that are missing. "Community" "Accessibility" and "Disk Jockeys" (not RJ's)

Community - simple stuff like birthday dedications / anniversaries etc used to get people TUNING in. NOW its about the NEXT big exhibition at hashtag#NMACC or the hashtag#NCPA. Who cares?? I realise they pay the bills and keep the lights on, but how much does it take and cant we find more ingenious ways? I'm sure half the bakeries in Bandra would pay to get their menus pushed on air. (Please dont take that literally) and instead of bakeries think Coffee shops. God knows they outnumber the bakeries.

So let the community pitch in.

Accessibility - this is a BIG one. ALL the swish ones have moved on to iPhones and unfortunately for you hashtag#SteveJobs rigged it in favour of Apple music.

But there's Android and you can always work from there OR ditch the commercial music and only play indie stuff and start streaming via a light player today which the "Community' will support!! 

Too simplistic? most solutions to complex things are.

Finally, humAIn disk jockeys / RJ's. 

Sad to say but some are using the platform to further their own agenda and other's are learning to pronounce words. You decide which is which.

Again. My intention is not to RANT but to REMEDY...so that you are on air 24 hrs a day not just 16 and flourish and become a part of the community!
