Where is genius?

People think it’s in the spotlight. On stages. In boardrooms. In viral TED Talks with polished voices and rehearsed wisdom. But that’s performance. Not genius.

Genius is quieter.

It lives in obsession. In the backroom of a tailor’s shop where a man’s been trying to perfect the same stitch for twenty-seven years. In the hands of a mechanic who can tell what’s wrong with an engine just by the sound it makes at a red light. In the sketchbooks of a schoolteacher who draws portraits of strangers on the metro and never shows anyone.

Genius is not always IQ. It's not always in a lab or a library. It’s in the stubborn refusal to stop caring.
