This poem was written one morning during the lockdown after a sweaty work-out with the equipment du jour - the broom, the mop, duster etc. I started wondering whether the younger ones know and fully comprehend what marriage is all about? Maybe there should be a mandatory course on this stuff like pre-army induction. So here goes.

Dear millennial,

it's not trivial

Can you swab, can you sweep?

As good as the jadu walee?

Dear millennial,

it's not trivial

Can you make East Indian chicken curry,

For the kids in a hurry?

Dear millennial,

it's not trivial

Can you wash the clothes spotless,

Without distress?

Dear millennial,

it's not trivial

Can you manage a shoe string budget,

And a leaking faucet?

Dear millennial,

it's not trivial

Can you mend a broken-heart,

When you know it’s an art?

Dear millennial,

it's not trivial

Can you make bread,

By using your head?

Dear millennial,

it's not trivial

millenial
I'm a millennial, it's not perennial

Congrats my lady and lad,

You’re fit to be mum & dad!

40plusguy!
