Part 1:
That’s not just an affirmation it’s also happens to be the title of the song I’m listening to by one republic.
we have a history of cancer in my family. My late grandmother, mum, uncle, aunt and brother are all survivors. Recently my mum was diagnosed with neurofibramatosis. Because of this i’m waiting inline to get an MRI done. Honestly I’m not sure what i’ll do or how I will react if they find something inside my head that doesn’t belong there! but I know I will owe it to my family to do my best to push forward! Just hoping it’s a case of the “nova effect” if you haven’t heard about it, watch this
Part 2:
We finished at the lab and we treated ourselves to some home made egg burji and chai! I then proceeded for my client meeting as scheduled. Cut to 5pm when I get a call from my wife telling me - “they’ve found something inside my head which doesn't belong in there”. i leave early for home and everything is normal until we get a call from the doctor asking is to RUSH to his clinic! We hop into a rick and reach there 20 mns later. He asks who is the patient and I say “ME” and he looks in disbelief as I am not demonstrating any of the symptoms of someone who has a 6.5 cms meningioma pressing against my frontal lobe! He says surgery is the only option and at the earliest. I ask what could have happened if it went undetected he says i could have been completely paralysed! Thanks to family and friends, we were able to move into action mode in terms of identifying the best neurosurgeon Dr. Harshad Parekh (thanks to Dr. Ravi Penkar) and scouting hospitals - Nanvati & Hinduja in Khar.
The pre-op blood work has been done today and the operation is scheduled for day after tomorrow 22nd Aug. (Thursday).
See you on the other side for the last part!
