& loving it!

In order to celebrate World Environment Day a few of us from Mother Teresa's Unit assembled at the Good Shepherd Convent at 11 am on 30th June to fellowship and plant a few saplings. The group was a mix of all ages - seniors Tina, Oscar, Trudy, Jeane, Alzeera, Rock, Suman, Sheldon, Wendy, Teresa, Sandrine, Charmaine, Sr Mary, Leanne & Vidhi from the youth group and Izabela, Izak, Nicolas from the generation who will actually eat the fruit.

Oscar led the way with his axe and helped prepare safe homes for the samplings while posing for photos all at the same time. Sr. Mary prayed that we wouldn’t get drenched while everyone else participated in helping to plant Papaya, Coconut and medicinal plants for future generations.

The kids were a happy bunch as they were treated to lollipops and chocolates. Gratitude to Sr. Mary and all the nuns of Good Shepherd Convent.

I went home with muck on my shoes & tracks, but with a heart filled with joy and hope. If we do this more often, could we reverse the carnage that gets reported in the newspapers?

Here are a few pics as proof!
