Desperately seeking Good Samaritan

The other day I took an auto from the Versova metro home like I usually do. I was in a hurry to get back home and join my class. While on the way I took out my phone to type an update to a client. I reached home paid the rick, hurriedly got out and made a dash for the stairs. When I reached home, hot soup which Priya had considerately ordered for me arrived, I took them from the delivery boy and wanted to tip him so I went to pull out my wallet from my bag. Now anyone who has seen my 8+ year old Carlton bag knows that it has a million pockets (!) but the wallet wasn't in any of them. I FROZE! Shitz did I leave it in the Rick...no I didn't ... yes you did! Omg! ughhhhh!

So I rushed down hoping against hope that I had dropped it on the stairs OR that the rick guy had found it and was kind enough to return it and how I'd reward him for that!

But alas no sign of the rick or my wallet. I walked to the end of our lane, hoping for something. Went and spoke to a couple of rickshaws to find out what does one do incase you lose a wallet? there used to be a taxi man's association. Don't think there's one for rickshaws. By that time Priya had come down. She told me - let's go pray to Saint Anthony the patron saint of lost causes. Ironically I had done so in the morning itself after dropping the kids to the school bus. But this was critical so we went and pleaded for mercy and safe return of the wallet!

When I reached back home, I proceeded to jump into the shower because the class had already started. A few minutes later I could hear the bell ring and suddenly Priya's screams of joy! I came out of the shower to see what had happened and next thing I realise is a very well dressed guy with air pods and his cap turned back handed me my wallet!

I was so relieved! No blocking bank cards, no reapplying for new identification cards etc we invited the gentleman in for a treat! But he refused and disappeared after telling me his name was Amit/Ahmad! Thanks to all the loud music I play, my hearing is starting to fail me. He looked punjabi or Muslim couldn't make out. He had a beard and had his cap turned backwards, jeans and T-shirt!

The story goes that his wife had found the wallet and called him. He told her "just bring it home and I will go and give it"

I would love to find this gentleman and give him a big hug and at least take him out for a cup of chai or coffee.

Any leads would be much appreciated.

Amit/Ahmad from Model Town, Andheri, if you're reading this pls know that you made my day and saved me a lot of heart burn.

You also impressed an 8 year old who now believes ever more that miracles are possible and kindness still exists! So thank you!
