A work + leisure trip to Bangalore to bring in my 46th,
first night partying in a friend’s balcony (!) (as comic Namit Jain put it - in mumbai, only the privileged have real balcony’s the rest have usurped spaced from what we're once flower gardens!)
back to the balcony party - Amazon's Alexa played DJ, we found out how many tracks Amazon Music still needs to license for their service like Dreaming by Marshmallow feat PiNK and Sting.... no worries everyone was too busy prim(e)ing themselves with alcohol! So we shifted to Spotify and then finally YouTube Music. It’s amazing how you can simulate the experience of a club in a balcony with one speaker a few choice bottles of alcohol mixers and random conversations.Things got truly wild and cannot be documented on a public forum like this. Use your imagination 😎
We spent the 2nd evening being insulted and applauded at the same time by a bunch of random fuckers who refused to keep their mental health issues to themselves.
One guy joked about how his attempt at committing suicide led to him discovering his ability to craft really succinct suicide notes, which he cultivated into a passion project (as it turned out once the prospective suicidee had expended his/her grief, they felt better and decided to call off the act). another spoke about ludicrous HR practices and yet another mumbai to Bangalore immigrant complained about the difficulty getting lucky on the 4th floor without a lift (since the girl would run out of stamina!) who knew a trip to the neighbourhood comedy club would be the best (and cheapest) therapy session (apart from taking matters into your own hands!)🙌
If you don’t believe me, head to Just BLR on Brigade Road Bangalore and experience dark humour with some of the most promising comics even Dave Chappelle would be proud of!
We managed to have an after party sit down
with Namit Jain and that was kind of the highlight of the evening. He agreed to be a part of the random genius family and that was reassuring. Now I’m shitting cause I need to deliver some business else the jokes on me!

Day 3 began slowly, everyone getting back to their senses, some still revelling in the previous nights insults from, and audacity of, barely employed individuals.
We all decided to head to swarayam (formerly Bengaluru Tiffany’s) for some authentic filter coffee and tette idlis.
Not sure whether it was the aroma of freshly brewed coffee but somewhere in the conversation a "factually fictionalised" book on my life was birthed by Jay and Pri! It could also be because I had mentioned that the singer jason derulo aged 35 has 13 (thirteen) streams of revenue! That got jay's juices flowing. He and Pri agreed to combine on the weekends. Pri agreed to provide all the source material for the book. The triggers, the manic episodes, the random posts on social media etc etc
Jay for his part promised to diligently take notes and jazz up the material using AI and ML without over fictionalising it lest the reader should find it too obtuse or good to be true.
We sipped on our filter coffee and nodded along agreeing to purchase 1 copy of the book each. So this untitled biography has already sold 3 copies without a single word being written! wonder if jason derulo had experienced such astounding pre-lauch success?
Post imaginary factually fictional book conception, we made our way back home to get packed.
We then realised we had a couple of hours left and decided to watch a movie to kill time...given the series of heady night outs and following hangovers we randomly landed on hangover 3…
If you haven't already seen it, I highly recommend watching it on Prime video! The wolf pack is reunited and then all hell breaks loose!
Can't wait to be back Bengaluru!
